Spring is so close we can practically hear the birds chirping on our balconies, which can only mean one thing: you’re probably itching to make some change. Maybe not the drastic “upend your life before daylight savings time ends” kind of changes, but smaller, more subtle tweaks to welcome the upcoming season.

One of our favorite things to do when we feel the urge to switch things up is to make small changes to our beauty routines. The easiest way to do this? Switching up our nail-polish colors. While typically one of the last parts of our beauty routines to be addressed, polishing our nails to welcome new seasons or annual holidays can have a drastic impact on our mood. Getting new manicures biweekly is one of the surest ways to add some variation to our beauty routines while still looking put together, and the process of deciding our color palettes for the next few days is so deeply satisfying.

So if you’re anything like us, the return of spring has you ready to head to your nearest salon to get your nails in top shape for the season. If you’re even more like us, then you not only like to be seasonally appropriate with your spring nails, but you also like to stay on trend with your nail-polish choices. So what are the nail-polish colors that will be trending this spring? We spoke with professional manicurists about which nail-polish colors they predict will be everywhere this season.

From bright pops of color to shimmery metallics, see their 2022 spring nail-color predictions ahead.

Spring Nail-Color Trend: Mint Green

While bright, vibrant colors are more readily seen in the summer, this year might be a little different. “2022 is all about being adventurous with vibrant colors,” celebrity nail artist Queenie Nguyen says. Some of the most popular shades that she predicts will trend this spring include mint green, white, and shimmery gold or rose gold shades.

Manicurist Nadine Abramcyk, cofounder of Tenoverten, agrees, saying: “We see a lot of our customers mixing and matching polish shades, whether it’s every other nail or a different shade for each hand, [but people] love a bright pop of color for spring.”

The pastel that she thinks will trend most for spring 2022? Lavender, thanks to Pantone’s recent announcement of “Very Peri” as the color of the year.

“You can never go wrong with this classic shade, and we’re definitely seeing a resurgence of the blue mani this season as more people embrace the light and crisp color,” Rachel Apfel Glass, founder of membership-based nail studio Glosslab in NYC, previously told POPSUGAR.
